From the Pres

Message from the President

Jenny PerketHello to all my fellow Veterinary Practice Managers!

I wanted to introduce myself, my name is Jenny Perket.  I have been a Hospital Manager for 4 years and a CVT for 13 years.  I work at Central Wisconsin Animal Emergency Center in Mosinee.  I am a mom of 3 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat and a snake (some people add my husband to that list).

When I interviewed for this position just over 4 years ago, I never knew such a well established organization, as the WVPMA, existed. The friendships, support, advice and education I have gotten thru the organization has helped me grow as an individual and as a manager.

Over the next year I look forward to personally meeting every member and to help non-members realize the value of this organization so they too can discover the tremendous support system we have to offer.  I hope every one of you are able to attend at least one meeting this year and are able to use e-groups.  I know we are all busy and the time, mileage and cost can add up but as managers we need to spend time on ourselves to help us grow in our profession and make us more valuable to our team.

As your new president, my eyes have been opened to the challenges the organization faces and the need we have for people to volunteer as committee members and future board members.  If you have an interest in helping out in any way we open our arms to you and appreciate your willingness to serve. You can contact me or any of the board members to find out more.

I hope to do my best this year to make it easier for future board members to transition into office, to make the organization more appealing and easier for non–members to access, to get the Josette Switter CE fund up and running and to get meeting topics that are appealing to all.

Don’t hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns!

Thank you,

Jenny Perket, CVT & Hospital Manager
